A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has prompted an Orange Alert for Baleswar and other parts of Odisha, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of deteriorating weather conditions. The system has intensified over the sea, resulting in rough and potentially hazardous coastal conditions, strong winds, and heavy rainfall concerns along the Baleswar coast.
With 11 districts under the weather warning, emergency and disaster-response teams have been placed on high alert to deal with possible flooding, waterlogging, and other weather-related emergencies. Coastal communities, fishermen, and residents in vulnerable areas are being urged to closely monitor official weather updates and follow safety advisories as the system develops.
