Balasore is set to explore new opportunities in adventure tourism, with Chandipur and Udaypur-Talasari beaches identified for potential development as destinations for aero-sports and water-based adventure activities. Under the newly rolled out Odisha Adventure Tourism Guidelines, the state tourism department has proposed these coastal locations to the Aero Club of India for feasibility studies. The initiative aims to assess the suitability of the beaches and surrounding areas for introducing professionally managed adventure-sports activities.
The proposed development could bring a wider range of experiences to Balasore’s coastline, including aero-based recreational activities and water sports, subject to feasibility, safety, environmental and regulatory assessments. Chandipur and Udaypur-Talasari are already known for their scenic coastal landscapes, and the proposed adventure-tourism expansion could add a new dimension to the district’s tourism offerings. The initiative is also expected to create opportunities for local businesses, tourism services and employment while strengthening Balasore’s position as a coastal tourism destination in Odisha.
