Recent heavy rainfall has caused fresh inundation along the Subarnarekha River, keeping water levels elevated in parts of the Jaleswar area. Earlier rises in the river had forced authorities to restrict movement along State Highway-57, the key route connecting Jaleswar and Chandaneswar, disrupting local transportation and movement.
Although the river level had started to recede after reaching its earlier peak, continued rainfall has renewed concerns about flooding. Local authorities are closely monitoring vulnerable embankments and river conditions to assess the risk of further inundation and take necessary measures to protect nearby communities and infrastructure.
